Lock Guide

All CASE suitcases are fitted with TSA locks, enabling security officers worldwide to inspect your suitcase without causing damage. While there are various types of TSA locks, they all operate in a similar way.

Below, we answer some frequently asked questions about TSA locks:

Where Is the Key?

Please be aware that your TSA lock does not come with a key. While TSA locks do have keyholes, the key is not meant for you. It is only accessible to U.S. Customs Officers and other customs officials worldwide, allowing them to inspect your luggage without damaging it.

Changing the combination for the first time: Generic Guide

Setting your lock’s code is simple. The factory default is 0-0-0, but you can easily change it to a memorable three-digit code, such as your birthday or address. While the process may vary slightly depending on the type of lock, the general steps are usually the same:

1
1.	Factory Setting: The lock is preset to 0-0-0 at the factory.

Ensure the combination is set to 0-0-0. This is the default code when you receive the case.

2
2.	Locate the Keyhole: On your suitcase, you’ll see something that looks like a keyhole. This is actually a button.

Locate the Pinpoint Button: If your lock has a small pinpoint button, press it in with a pen. If not, press and hold the button you use to open the suitcase towards the dials.

3
1.	Factory Setting: The lock is preset to 0-0-0 at the factory.

Whilst the pinpoint button is held down, rotate the dials to your desired three-digit code.

4
1.	Factory Setting: The lock is preset to 0-0-0 at the factory.

If you used a pinpoint button, simply release the button you were holding. Your new combination is now set!

Regardless of the type of TSA lock you have; we strongly recommend setting the lock with the zip pulls not secured in the lock. If you set the lock incorrectly while the zip pulls are engaged, you may be unable to open the suitcase.

What happens if I have locked myself out of my suitcase?

If you’ve locked yourself out of your suitcase, you have a couple of options. You can send the suitcase to the manufacturer's repair centre, where they can reset the lock for you. Keep in mind that this process may take some time, possibly up to six weeks during peak periods. Alternatively, you can give the suitcase to us, and we’ll forward it to the repair company on your behalf. Please note that any charges from the repair centre are your responsibility, not Case Luggage’s. For more details, please refer to our full repair policy here.
